Columbia County Makerspace is dedicated to helping individuals explore career and hobby opportunities in Aerospace; including but not limited to piloting and building RC Planes, Drones, Experimental Aircraft, as well as commercial or civilian airframe and powerplant refurbishment. We will foster the growth of local clubs, and provide work-force development to area businesses.
We have plans to offer an Apprenticeship program that focuses on Shop skills.
We will install a flight training simulator Zone for RC planes and Drones, using RealFlight, Microsoft or other industry recognized training suites and Controllers. We will also fly RC airframes locally.
We are looking into ways that we can assist in obtaining your Drone Pilots License (Part 107)
We plan to partner with area Aerospace firms, and Universities for education and mentorship.
Our state of the art workshop will inspire the creation of drones, robotics, model rockets and even experimental aircraft. With our specialized focus on electronics, pneumatics and radio technologies, each project can leave the Makerspace facility as a completed prototype, proof of concept or creation.
