Volunteers, mentors and professional instructors will create an affordable learning center in Lake City, Florida that will serve the needs of technology minded people in North Central Florida. Allowing access to High Tech additive and subtractive manufacturing machines will inspire individuals to explore higher paying careers, and help with local work-force development.

A basic membership fee allows a member access to 3D printing technology, CNC routers and mills, robotics and cutting edge machines that are mostly driven by computerized controls. Our computer training center will combine powerful computing and A/V solutions with SolidWorks and Open Source resources to learn on.

A special focus on aerospace, drones, amateur radio and the surrounding careers, will be integral parts of our community resource center, and training curriculum.

The Columbia County Makerspace will foster all forms of creativity that are included in the “Maker” movement and traditions. This will include sponsoring Maker events, classes and camps, right here in Columbia County; the Gateway to Florida!
